CUTE OR KANIVING???

This morning while we were rushing around the house trying to get out the door (as always mornings are a rush at our house), Kyle informed me that George the Monkey needed a chocolate. So not wanting to take the time to fight with Kyle or George I caved and gave him one. Well as soon as I handed it to Ky he said, "Monkey isn't real he can't eat it, I guess I will have too!" Obviously I knew he was going to eat it and not the monkey but for him to come up with that just cracked me up!!! I love my little guy he keeps me on my toes that is for sure. So here is a picture of George the Monkey, Kyle the Monkey and of course the morning chocolate ;)

Hopefully I will have some cool pictures to post after my Girl's camping and horseback riding trip. Hope you all have a good couple of days!!!

MITCHELL MEN PILLOW FIGHTS

Last night Jeff was sitting there watching TV when Ky came up and handed him a pillow and said "Lets play pillow fight". Ky loves to play pillow fight and here are some pictures of them pillow fighting.

Ky also likes to put the pillow on his head (using the pillow case) and ram his Dad. I guess he thinks it is like a helmet or something and will protect him.

UTE STAMPEDE - CARNIVAL

We went to the Ute Stampede this year on Friday. We decided to go a little early so we could do some rides and stuff before the rodeo instead of doing them at midnight. We got there and thought it would be a good idea to start Kyle off on some of the kid rides and see how he did.
The first ride he went on was this caterpillar "roller coaster".
Needless to say he was not that excited about the whole thing. He then spyed the Jeep ride and had to try that one out. I think it was more of a success but he still was not totally into it.

We then went in search of something a little more wild. We found the ride that lifts you up and then over and down and then over and up again (I can't remember the name). No one was there to take our picture as we all went on it but Kyle loved it. So then Jeff thought it would be a good idea to put him in the Gravetron, but Kyle was a little to short for that one (thank goodness). Then it was off to the Wild Machine. Kyle was barely over the height limit. Here are some pictures of them on it. You can hardly see Kyle but he is there.
Ky loved all the rides. I'm glad he does now his Dad has someone to go on them with!!! I think I'm coming to the conclusion that my 3-year-old is an adrenaline junky!!!

Then it was off to get something to eat. We went to one of the carnival vendors and paid out the nose for a hamburger, corn dog and a philly sandwich. It wasn't until after that I saw the rodeo burger stand ughhh.

Anyway we got our food and went to the rodeo. Kyle was good and loved seeing the Wild Child act and of course the bulls. After the rodeo they had a coin dig for the children and some of the kids got overly excited and went into the arena before they had the Spanish Fighting Bull put away. It was a close call but no one got hurt.

It wasn't until the next morning that I got the real ughhhhh of eating the carnival philly sandwich. Lets just say food poisoning stinks but it does help with weight lose ;). Anyway I have vowed that I will not eat anymore carnival food unless it is cotton candy!!!

The Newest Member of the Mitchell Family

Well first I would like to say it hasn't been quite a month since my last post, which I would say for me that is pretty darn good. July is a crazy crazy month between the 4th, ATV trips, and lake trips we are never home. I will post more about them later......

I have been contemplating getting Kyle a really good kids horse or a pony for quite awhile. For those that know anything about ponies you know they can be a little shall we say arrogant, ignorant, stubborn etc., so I really debated on buying this pony from my good friend Laurie. Well I finally decided what the heck lets try it.

I picked him put and took him with me to riding club to see what he would do around all the excitement. To my amazement he just stood there and didn't move, I thought ok maybe he will be a good one. I then took him home and put him in our pasture and he just walked around and didn't get to upset like most horses would do. I thought OK this is weird is he sick or something. I watched him for a few days and just let him do his thing.

The Saturday after we got him Kyle and I went to check on him and his water and I had the thought to put Kyle on him. I didn't have a halter or anything but I thought I can put Ky on and just hold onto him in case the pony did something stupid. Well here is the picture of how well that went....

Mr. Giggles is the pony's name and he just followed me around the pasture like a puppy. Kyle loved it. We only rode for a little while that time and then we went 4-wheeling on Boulder Mtn future post about this trip.

Here is some pictures of Kyle riding Giggles all by himself. They both have figured out that if they go by the apple tree Giggles can eat the apples off of the ground and Kyle can pick the apples off of the tree.

We just love Giggles and are so happy to welcome into our family. Kyle can make him do anything. It feels so good to be able to trust an animal (as much as you can trust one) with your child. Kyle is so confident and is not intimidated at all!!! Maybe I will finally get my cowboy :)
